Pass to Player 2
Pipline: play Dominoes online free
Match the ends, block your rivals and go out first. Draw, Block and All Fives for 2 to 4 players, against the computer, friends online or on one screen.
What is Pipline Dominoes?
Pipline is classic dominoes with a full double-six set, ready to play in your browser. Match a tile from your tray to an open end of the line, block the numbers your rivals need, and go out first to score every pip left in their hands. The line snakes neatly across the table to fit your screen, and when you pick a tile the ends where it fits light up.
Choose the Draw game, the Block game or All Fives, where every play that makes the ends add up to a multiple of five scores points. Play two, three or four, with partners across the table if you like, to 100 or 150. Take on the computer at four levels, pass one screen around with your tiles hidden between turns, or play online at a table where computer players fill the empty seats.
How to play Pipline Dominoes
- Each player draws a hand of tiles: seven each with two players or in the Block game, five each with three or four in Draw and All Fives. The rest is the boneyard.
- The first hand starts with the highest double. After that, whoever won the last hand sets any tile.
- On your turn, play a tile whose number matches an open end. Doubles go across the line.
- Draw game and All Fives: if nothing fits, draw from the boneyard until something does; pass once it is empty. Block game: if nothing fits, pass.
- Go out first and you score the pips left in everyone else's hands. If nobody can play, the lowest count wins the others' pips.
- All Fives: whenever the open ends add up to 5, 10, 15 or more by fives, you score that many points at once.
Pipline Dominoes tips and strategy
- Play your heavy tiles early. Getting caught with the double six costs twelve points.
- Keep a spread of numbers, so you can follow whatever end is left open.
- Watch what others draw on or pass on: they hold none of those numbers, so leave those ends open.
- In All Fives, count the ends before every play, and think twice before leaving a total your opponent can turn into a five.
Draw, Block and All Fives
Block is the purest test of play: no boneyard, so a stuck player simply passes. The Draw game lets you draw until you can play, so hands get longer and the boneyard matters. All Fives, also known as Muggins, scores during the hand as well as at the end. A double set to start the hand becomes a spinner: once both its sides are played it opens up and down too, giving four ends to count. Going out rounds your score to the nearest five.
The four computer levels
Easy plays like a beginner and often puts down its smallest tile. Medium sheds its heaviest tiles and takes any points on offer. Hard keeps a spread of numbers, blocks the next player when it can and avoids setting up points for others. Insane remembers every tile played, works out which numbers each player can't hold from their draws and passes, deals out the unseen tiles hundreds of ways and plays each choice to the end of the hand. Hints use the Hard player: two a hand on Easy, one on Medium and Hard, none on Insane.
Play dominoes online with friends
Choose Online, then Quick match or Invite friends. The host picks the game, the number of players, partners and the target, and computer players fill any seat nobody takes. Your tiles stay on our server until you play them, so nobody can peek, and a friend who arrives late takes over a computer player's seat.
Pipline Dominoes FAQ
Is Pipline Dominoes free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser with no download and no account needed.
How do you play dominoes?
Take turns matching a tile from your hand to an open end of the line. If you can't, draw from the boneyard (or pass in the Block game). The first to play all their tiles wins the hand and scores the pips left in the other hands.
How many tiles do you start with in dominoes?
With a double-six set, two players take seven each. With three or four players, take five each in the Draw game and All Fives, or seven each in the Block game.
What is the difference between Draw and Block dominoes?
In the Draw game you draw from the boneyard when you can't play. In the Block game there is no drawing: you pass, so hands are shorter and blocking matters more.
How does scoring work in All Fives?
After each play, add up the numbers on the open ends (a double on an end counts both halves). If the total is a multiple of five, you score it. Going out also scores the other hands' pips, rounded to the nearest five.
What is a spinner in dominoes?
In All Fives, a double set to start the hand is a spinner. Once tiles are played on both its sides, it can also be played on from above and below, so the line has four ends.
What happens when nobody can play?
The hand is blocked. Everyone counts their pips, and the player or team with the lowest count wins the others' pips. A tie scores nothing.
Can I play dominoes with a partner?
Yes. Choose four players with partners: partners sit across the table, score together and win together.
Can I play dominoes online with friends?
Yes. Choose Online, tap Invite friends and send the link or the code. Computer players fill empty seats, so two friends can still play a four-player game.
