Sky Tower: a 3D tower stacking game

What is Sky Tower?

Sky Tower is a free 3D tower stacking game that runs in your browser. A block slides back and forth above your tower, and you tap, click or press Space to drop it. Whatever hangs over the edge is sliced off and tumbles away, so the next block is smaller. Land a block exactly on the one below for a perfect drop: nothing is lost, the music climbs, and a chain of perfects grows your block back.

As the tower rises, the camera rises with it, from the city rooftops through the clouds, into a sunset, under the northern lights and out into space. Play an endless tower for the leaderboard, the daily tower that is the same for everyone each day, 30 challenge towers with wind, swaying, ice, clocks and six bosses, or race a friend on one screen.

How to play Sky Tower

1. Tap the screen, click, or press Space (or Enter) to drop the sliding block onto the tower.
2. The part of the block that sits over the tower stays; any overhang is sliced off and falls. If you miss the tower completely, the run is over.
3. Drop a block within a hair of the one below for a PERFECT: nothing is sliced. From the third perfect in a row on, your block grows back a little each time.
4. The block slides along one side and then the other, and it gets faster as the tower grows.
5. In two-player mode each player drops their own tower: on a phone each player taps their half of the screen, on a computer player 1 uses A and player 2 uses L. First to 25 floors wins; three misses and you're out.
6. Press P or Escape, or the pause button, to pause. The game pauses by itself when you switch tabs.

Sky Tower tips and strategy

• Watch the edge of the block, not its middle: drop when its leading edge lines up with the edge of the tower.
• Perfect chains are worth more than speed. A few perfects in a row win back the width a sloppy drop cost you.
• On ice blocks, let go a little early: they slide on for a moment after you drop them.
• When the tower sways, aim at where the top is now, and drop as it swings back through the middle.
• In gusty levels the wind arrow flashes before each gust. Wait it out if the block is about to zip past.
• A narrow block is not the end. Slow down, go for perfects, and it will grow back.

Thirty challenge towers and six bosses

The challenges are split into six worlds of five towers: City Rooftops teaches the basics, Cloud Deck brings the wind, Sunset Spires makes the tower sway, Aurora Heights adds ice blocks and ticking clocks, Orbit mixes everything, and Deep Space is for the steadiest hands. Goals change from tower to tower: stack a height, land a number of perfect drops, build within a set number of blocks, or keep your block wide.

The fifth tower of each world is a boss: Nimbo the Thundercloud, Zephyra the Kite Dragon, Solara the Sun Serpent, Lumi the Aurora Wraith, Kraag the Comet Crab and Vorax the Star Eater. Every floor you stack hits the boss, and a perfect drop hits it twice. Each tower gives up to three stars.

Endless, daily tower and leaderboards

The endless tower keeps going until you miss, and the sky keeps changing as you climb. The daily tower is the same for every player on the same day, weather and all, and changes at midnight UTC. Your best endless tower, your best daily tower and your total challenge stars go on the Rocket Games leaderboards.

Two players on one screen

The 2 Players mode splits the screen for a race on one device: both players get the same tower, and the first to 25 floors wins. A miss freezes your crane for a moment and costs one of three lives, so a steady hand beats a fast one.

Block skins and sky themes

Play to unlock new blocks, Neon, Candy, Crystal, Marble, Voxel and Gold, and new skies, Candy Sky and Synthwave. They are earned by stacking, by perfect chains, by daily towers and by beating bosses, never bought.

On phones, tablets and computers

Sky Tower is a one-tap game, so it is just as easy on a phone as with a mouse or keyboard. It works in portrait and landscape, the graphics quality adjusts itself to keep the game smooth, and your progress is kept in your browser.
